Bio from Darrell Brown:

Nora was born near Mt. Ayr, Ringgold county, Iowa, on the 15th of June, 1878. In 1883 she moved with her family to Kingman county, Kansas. Then around 1886 the family bought a homestead in the Wayland community, about 8 miles east of Johnson City, Stanton county, Kansas. In 1889 her mother Eunice died, and no doubt she and her sister Mertie were left with increased responsibilities for the family.
In 1895 she moved with her widowed father and three brothers to Pauls Valley, a growing railroad town in Indian Territory, now part of Oklahoma. On the 26th of June, 1896, she was married there to Henry Riley Glass. They had two children, Lela G., who was born July 20, 1897, and Gladys, born Jan 15, 1902. They were called "GG" and "Tink."

Public records provide an outline of their lives. In 1910 they were living on a farm in Forest township near Tecumseh, Pottawatomie county, Oklahoma, where Henry was a farm laborer and Nora worked as a cook. By 1912 Henry had gotten a job in Tecumseh as a driver for Maxey & Williams, a meat-packing company, and the family moved into a place on West Main Street. By 1914 Henry was working as a clerk in the A C Neel Hardware store, a job he retained until the family moved to Oklahoma City in 1920. In 1914 Nora's crippled and newly widowed father asked her to care for his seven-year old son Ual, which she did for a year, until her sister Lura accepted the responsibility. Meanwhile, their oldest daughter Lela finished school, and in 1916 she began training and working as a nurse in Tecumseh. On the 25th of August 1917 she was married in the home of her parents in Tecumseh to John Jamison, and they moved to Norman, Oklahoma.

In 1920 the family moved to Oklahoma City and lived at 630 Sycamore Avenue, later called 630 SE 19th Street. Nora worked as an inspector at Southern Enterprises, a furniture company, Henry worked as a janitor for the St. Louis and San Francisco railroad company, and Lela worked as a nurse. In 1925 their daughter Gladys was married to William Gallagher, who worked for Phillips Petroleum, and moved to Bartlesville, OK. In 1925 Lela moved to Shawnee to work there as a nurse. In 1933 Gladys and her family moved back to Oklahoma City, and Lela moved back as well, living initially with them and then with Henry and Nora.

From 1927 until 1940 Henry worked as an elevator operator in the Security Building in Oklahoma City. In 1941, however, he retired at age 68, and took up work as a typewriter repairman.

Nora survived Henry by 21 years and passed away on the 17th of October 1972, still living in their home at SE 19th, Oklahoma City. Ten years later, GG and Tink moved to Baton Rouge, where GG died November 10, 1985, and Tink died March 29, 1991.
