THE MT. VERNON REGISTER:
Bertha Mae Braden Dies At Age 73. Rites Wednesday;

Mrs. Bertha Mae Braden of 708 South 12th Street died at 11:30pm Sunday at St. Johns Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. She was 73 years and 8 months old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday at the Wesley Methodist Church, of which she was a member, with Reverend A.B. Clodfelder and Reverend Thomas E. Harper officiating. Burial will be in Knob Prairie Cemetary in Waltonville.

The body will lie in state at Pulley-Gutzier Funeral Home where friend may call at 4:00pm today. At noon Wednesday, the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the funeral hour.

Mrs. Braden was born October 17, 1891 in Waltonville.

She is survived by a son, Glen Braden of Houston, Texas, two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Meek and Mrs. Helen Browden, both of Mt. Vernon, fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren,

Mrs. Braden was preceeded in death by her husband, Levi M. Braden, a son, Ernest Braden and a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Semlle.

She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of American.
