Mrs. Flora Alice Byrd, 70, of 468 Case Knife Rd., died late Monday night at her home.

Born Aug. 27, 1907 in Carroll County, she was the widow of the late Amos Franklin Byrd:

She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy, Brown Addition, for over 30 years.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Alice Marie Donaldson of Pulaski; nine sons, the Rev. Garnett Byrd of Clover, the Rev. V.E. Byrd of Richmond, Leroy G. Byrd of Atlanta, the Rev. Donald W. Byrd of Dublin and Avery F. Byrd, Henry A. Byrd, Robert L. Byrd, Ronald W. Byrd. and John L. Byrd, all of Pulaski; 33 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Stamper of Kingsport, Tenn. and Mrs. Lottie Swaine of Christiansburg and one brother, Guy Manuel of Wilmington, Del.

The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy Brown Addition, Pulaski, with the Rev. M.B. Hale and the Rev. Clark Clifford officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Wednesday with the family to receive friends from 7-10 Wednesday night at the Bower Funeral Home in Pulaski. The body will be placed in the church by noon Thursday to lie in state until the service. Bower Funeral Home in Pulaski Is handling the arrangements.
