WILLIAM I. CATRON
Funeral services for William I. Catron, 72, of Mitchellville, will be held Friday, May 13, at 11 a.m. at SS Paul & John Catholic Church in Altoona. Interment will be at Altoona Cemetery.

Mr. Catron died Tuesday, May 10, at Mercy Medical Center of a heart ailment.

He was born in Kimball, KS, on April 11, 1916 and was an Altoona resident for 42 years before moving to Mitchell - ville six years ago. He was employed by Polk County in road maintenance before retiring in 1976. Mr. Catron was a member of SS John & Paul Catholic Church, the, Oldfield American Legion Post 155 of Mitchellville, and the Operating Engineers Local No. 234.

Visitation will be at Altoona Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Thursday with a rosary to be recited at 8:15 p.m. Memorial contributions may go to SS Paul & John Church.

Survivors include his wife, Rose; four sons, three daughters, two stepsons, of Des Moines; two sisters, Mildred Warren of Concord, CA, and Roberta Frank of Union City, CA; four brothers, Wes of Mingo, Arthur Lowell of Lewis Town, MO, Robert of Orlando, FL, and Harold of Indianola; 19 grandchilden and three great grandchildren.
