Issac's place of birth is also listed both as in Dunstable, Massachusetts and Dunstable, New Hampshire, due to border changes. This part of Dunstable later became Nashua, New Hampshire.
Isaac was the son of Zadock and Mary (Howe) Adams. He was the youngest of five children listed in Dunstable birth records. His father Zadock was a farmer.
Isaac came to North Monmouth when Spear & Billings established a business to manufacture hoes and shovels. An 1849 newspaper article indicated the company was located in a converted grist mill on the Wilson stream near the stage road. Though established just a couple years prior, by that year it employed about a dozen hands. In 1848 the company made 1250 dozen hoes and 200 dozen shovels. Their products were described as high quality and finished nicely. Isaac worked for them as long as the company was in business. He was listed as employed by this company in the 1880 census.
Isaac married Olive Stanton of Monmouth on August 20, 1854. They had five children from the years 1855 and 1864. They were predeceased by their daughter Mary.
At the time of his death Isaac's profession was listed as farmer. He died of old age.
