Margaret and her husband Walter had 5 children: 1) George, born 1823; 2) Benjamin, born 1826; 3) Jacob, born 1828; 4) Lewis, born 1830; and 5) Julia, born 1832. The 3 boys, Benjamin, Jacob, and Lewis all served in the Civil War with the Ohio 116th Volunteer Infantry Unit, Co A. Lewis died in captivity on Jun 10th 1863 from disease and the other 2 served until Jun 1865 when they were mustered out and then returned home to Ohio.
