Friday Morning Accident Fatal to Estherville Woman
Linda Jane Boggess, 18, Estherville, was killed Friday, Oct. 27, 1972, in a one-car accident occurring three-quarters of a mile south of Estherville on Highway 4.

Miss Boggess was traveling north about 4:15 a.m. when the automobile, a 1969 Pontiac station wagon, left the road on the righthand side and overturned. Alone in the automobile, she was found dead at the scene of the accident.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Boggess, Estherville. She was born March 21, 1954, in Estherville, graduated from Estherville High School in May and completed a Nurses Aide course at Iowa Lake Community College last month. She was a member of United Methodist Church.

Services are to be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Richard Pearson officiating. Interment will be made in East Side Cemetery.

She is survived by her parents (her father is now hospitalized at the Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.); four sisters, Mrs. David (Mary) Corwin, Rhodes, Kay Boggess, Kansas City, Kan., Mrs. Sue Smith, Estherville, and Kathy at home; and one grandparent, Mrs. Lloyd McClelland of Estherville. One sister, Jean, preceded her in death.

Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Saturday and until 9 a.m. Monday when the body will be taken to the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 27, 1972)
