On Sunday, August 7, 2011, our Father in Heaven took back to him Sarah Jane Yeiter Bowen, one of the most selfless women to walk the face of this earth.

She devoted her life to serving others, blessing the lives of countless children in the LDS Primary for some twenty years.

Even as her own life began slipping away, she reached out to those in need, visiting acquaintances who were homebound, serving in the Midvale Senior Center, and doing as much as she could to help those caring for her.

Sarah is survived by three of her four sons, William E. Bowen, Jr., Jack James Bowen (Irene Bowen), and Dennis Brent Bowen. Her final weeks were spent surrounded by many loved ones who visited her at the home of her grandson, Bradley Wm. Bowen, and his wife, Paula W. Bowen. Sarah is survived by nine grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Bowen; a son, Bruce Bowen; and four grandchildren, Scotty Bowen, Rudy Bowen, Tony Bowen, and Carrie Bowen Hasseldeck.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah.
