7 DEATHS IN ONE VICINITY
Northern Part of County Suffers From Ravages of the Epidemic

The vicinity of Greensburg and Baring has suffered much the past week from the ravages of the epidemic which is prevalent all over the nation. Up to the time of going to press seven deaths have been reported with a number of others very sick.
M. Lore, Joe Fetters and Louis Fetters all three died Saturday, November 30, and lived in the same community.
M. Lore was one of the prominent farmers of that section and lived just across the line in Scotland county. He was about 30 years of age and is survived by a wife.
Joe Fetters was one of the men of that section possessed of a magnificent pysique [sic] but the malady was too much for him.
Joseph Ellsworth Fetters was born August 2, 1889. He was married to Miss Inez Cunningham December 7, 1910 and to the home came a daughter, Lois, who with the wife survive him.
Grandma Childress, mother of Jake Childress died Friday, November 29 [sic] aged 82 years. For some time she lived in the West but a few months ago came to Missouri and lived with her son.
Louis Fetters was a young man about 30 years of age and is survived by his parents.
Wes Pruitt [sic] died Monday, December 2, and is survived by a wife and three children. Joe Carr, a boy about 14 years of age and who made his home with his grandfather, Wm. Burris [sic], died Sunday. An infant of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Henry died Thursday, November 28.
Because of epidemic no funerals were held for any of these people. It is reported that Frank Fetters and wife are very sick and that Ed Mellicke is also in a serious condition.

PLEASANT RIDGE.
At the present time an epidemic of the "flu" is raging around Greensburg. There have been six deaths in four days and probably 50 to 75 cases are still sick. A four-year-old child of Art Henry died Thursday; on Friday "Grandmother" Childress and Friday night M. Lore; Saturday morning Joseph Fetters, son of John Fetters; Saturday night Lewis Fetters, a son of Frank Fetters; and Sunday a grandchild of William Burrus, Wesley Pruit [sic], who lives on the Lore farm, was very low Monday, and a number of others were very sick, in fact there are hardly enough well to bury the dead.
