Greenville resident Robert A. Allen, 95, died Monday at Park Haven Nursing Home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. in Tidwell Cemetery with Rev. Gideon Bush officiating.
The son of Tom and Georgia Allen, he was born in Hopkins County on June 22, 1897. In 1936, he married Ruby L. Hudgins in Sulphur Springs. Mr. Allen was retired from Northeast Texas Oil Mill; he worked in maintenance. He was deacon and member of Tidwell Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Lillian Lawson of Greenville, Georgia Easley of Winnsboro and Pauline Green of Pickton; two stepdaughters, Daurine Farmer of Mount Pleasant and Louise Boling of Sulphur, La.; one stepson, W. F. "Bill" Brown of Greenville; two sisters, Inez Connor of Sulphur Springs and Ethel Connor of Arkansas; 36 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife on April 19, 1992; three sons; three sisters; and three brothers.
Services are under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
