A survey of the older section in LaFayette Cemetery was made prior to 1980. At that time William Logan's small marble headboard was legible. In 2017 the marker has eroded so that most of the epitaph is gone. The footboard at the grave site has "W. L." and makes the grave site identifiable. He is buried next to his son Robert E. Logan. Another grave in the row of three next to William is likely his wife Roseller/Rose Ellen Logan.
A replacement marker was placed by "Friends of LaFayette Cemetery" on November 14, 2023.
