Minnie Baker, 91, of Sioux Center died Thursday, March 9 in the Sioux Center Hospital Wing.

Services were held Saturday in Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Dennis Wilcox officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery under direction of the Memorial Funeral Home.

Mrs. Baker, the former Minnie Schilt, was born Sept. 7, 1897 in Orange City. She lived her youth in Orange City and attended school in Orange City and Doon, graduating from eighth grade at Doon.

She married Jacob Baker March 12, 1919 at Doon. The couple lived in Alton, Doon, Hull and Sioux Center. He died Aug. 14, 1967.

Mrs. Baker was a member of the Missionary Circle of the Central Reformed church for many years.

Survivors include two sons, Henry J. and Marion "Mike," both of Sioux Center; two daughters, Mrs. William Kroon of Hampton and Mrs. Leland (Annabelle) Rensink of Boyden; two brothers, John Schilt of Modesto, Calif., and James Schilt of Fresno, Calif.; five sisters, Nellie DeYoung of Sioux Falls, S.D., Mrs. Marinus (Anna "Marge") Mouw and Johanna Mouw, both of Sioux Center; Henrietta DeBoer of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Dora Schuurman of Inwood; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Marinus; a grandson, Dan Michael Baker and one great-granddaughter, Diane Lynn Kroon.
