Mausa was the daughter of Sekino Takeyasu and Hisakichi Sakohira (from Hiroshima, Japan). She was raised by Elzarus and Evelyn Hunsaker in Honeyville, UT. Mausa worked as a tax examiner for the IRS. She married Harry Nabori Yamaguchi on April 8, 1927. They had three children: Evelyn, Chiyoko, and Leanne. Donations for her funeral were sent to The Evelyn Yamaguchi Memorial Scholarship Fund at Weber State College in Ogden, Utah (which you can still donate to).
