Born in DeWitt, he was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired in 1973 after 18 years at Crucible Specialty Metals.

Survivors: His wife, Lillian A; two daughters, Linda Starkweather and Sharon Yacketta, both of Syracuse; two sons, Lawrence J. of Syracuse and Ronald J. of Atlanta, Ga; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Services: 6p.m. Thursday at Fairchild & Meech Syracuse Chapel. Burial, Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours, 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 500 W. Onondaga St., Syracuse.
