Death of Mrs. G. E. Burnett.

As we go to press the sad news comes from Savannah, Ga., of the death of Mrs. G. E. Burnett, who passed away at 7:00 o’clock this morning (Wednesday) at the home of her sister, Mrs. R. L. Baugh. Before her marriage, she was Miss Saphronia McLemore. She leaves a devoted husband, three daughters, Mrs. K. L. Truchelut of Savannah, and Misses Annie and Florence Burnet, and four sisters, Mrs. Annie C.
Allen, Mrs. D. A. Holmes and Miss Bettie McLemore, all of this city, and Mrs. Christopher of Atlanta, Ga.
The funeral services will take place at the Baptist Church in this city Friday morning at 10:00. The Sun extends deepest sympathy to the bereaved family and relatives.

Funeral of Mrs. Burnett.

The funeral of Mrs. Geo. E. Burnett, who died at the home of her brother-in-law, Mr. R. L. Baugh in Savannah, last Wednesday morning, December 14th, was held at the Baptist Church in this city last Friday morning at 11:00 o’clock. The services were conducted by Rev. E. M. Stewart, assisted by Rev. W. C. Bledsoe, Rev. H. W. Rickey, Rev. W. T. Hollingsworth and Rev. C. J. Burden, and many beautiful tributes were paid the memory of the deceased. At the conclusion of the services, the casket covered with the most beautiful floral offerings ever wrought by loving hands, was tenderly borne to the City Cemetery and there the body of this good woman was laid to rest in the Silent City of the Dead.
Mrs. Burnett was taken ill on December 2nd and died at 7:00 o’clock on the morning of the 14th. Her death was caused by heart trouble and Bright’s disease. She was 45 years old at the time of her death and had been married 25 years, one month and nine days. At her bedside at the time of her death were her husband and children, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Baugh and son, Mrs. T. J. Christopher and Miss B. C. McLemore.
The out of town relatives in attendance at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Baugh and son, Robert Baugh, Jr., of Savannah, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Christopher of Atlanta, Rev. and Mrs. W. R. Battle, of Rockford, Mr. D. G. Allen, who is a student of the Southern University at Greensboro, Mr. J. A. Holmes, Jr., of LaGrange, Dr. H. B. Peacock of Opelika.
The deceased is survived by her husband and three children. Mrs. H. L. Truchelut of Savannah, who was unable to attend the funeral on account of sickness, Misses Annie and Florence Burnett, who were in attendance at Brenau College, Gainesville, Ga., and were called to the bedside of their mother by telegram; five sisters, Mrs. R. L. Baugh, of Savannah, Mrs. T. J. Christopher of Atlanta, Mrs. A. C. Allen, Mrs. D. A. Holmes and Miss B. C. McLemore, of LaFayette.
