Wyandotte's first Irish settlers in 1855 included John, Mike, Patsy & Anthony Melody (per news article in March 1935). Anthony married first to Jane "Jennie" Simmons who died August 15, 1888. He married again November 27, 1889 in Detroit to Catherine Toomey. Anthony died in Ford City (now part of Wyandotte) at 356 Biddle Avenue. He was not attended by a doctor so cause of death not known but was being treated at the Emergency Hospital for interstitial nephritis. He was the son of James Melody. Worked in the Iron Mill in 1880, was a laborer in the shipyards in 1900. Buried May 11, 1910 in Mt Carmel Cemetery in Wyandotte, Mich.
