Joseph "Eddie" Joyal
December 20, 1915 - October 19, 2004

PUTNAM - Joseph "Eddie" Joyal, 88, formerly of Putnam, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of his daughter and son-in-law Christine and John "Chip" DiLibero in Blackstone, MA, where he had made his home following the death of his wife.

Mr. Joyal was born in Putnam on December 20, 1915 a son of the late Ubald "Toby" and Christina (Moody) Joyal. Mr. Joyal was the beloved husband of the late Marie (Jutras) Joyal. Mrs. Joyal died in April 2001.

A proud World War II veteran, Mr. Joyal served in the United States Army where he was discharged at the rank of Captain.

Mr. Joyal was employed for 40 years at the City Beverage Company in Putnam until the time of his retirement in 1998. Joseph was a communicant of Saint Mary Church of the Visitation in Putnam. An active member of the Putnam Community, he held memberships in the VFW Post #1523, American Legion Post #13, and a 65 year member of the Putnam
Lodge of Elks #574.

His family will remember him as an honest, hardworking, humble man who was kind, generous, and exhibited a caring attitude and fine sense of humor. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his daughter, he leaves two sons; Patrick Joyal of Putnam and Denis Joyal of Brooklyn, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly, and several area nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by a sister, Margaret Bonin, and two brothers; Raymond and Arthur Joyal.
