William was the 5th son of farmers Festus & Rachel (Graham) Young. He married Elnorah "Nora" McGee in Shinnston, Harrison Co, WV on Feb. 29, 1872. They were the parents of George Orville, Hugh Festus, Willa Camella and Harry Quillen Young.
