John Hansen, 63, well-known Ogden barber, died at his home, 750 Twenty-seventh, this morning of a heart ailment. He had been ill for the past week.

Mr. Hansen was born Dec. 13, 1879, in Timaru, Canterbury, New Zealand, a son of John and Hannah Jensen Hansen. He came to the United States in 1880 with his parents and resided in Cache county. During his early life, he was engaged in farming.

He married Alice M. Barker in the LDS Logan temple on Dec. 2, 1902. He was a member of the Ogden LDS Fifth ward, and Seventies quorum. He was a member of the Barbers union. Moving from Cache Valley to Ogden in 1926, he engaged in the barber business which he had continued until the time of his death. He had a partnership in the Staker & Hansen Shop, 2252 Washington.

Survivors include his widow; one son, John Morgan Hansen, U.S. Army, Fort Lewis, Wash., who recently visited his parents on furlough; one daughter, Mrs. Zola Molter, Salt Lake City; and one sister, Mrs. Ernest Jensen, Logan.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 3 p.m. from Lindquist and Sons Colonial Funeral Chapel, Bishop Adrian R. Burnett of the Fifth ward officiating. Viewing at mortuary Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Monday until hour of service.

Interment Ogden City Cemetery.
