Obituary for Mary Worrick

Mary Lou Worrick was born in Monroe, Michigan on July 12, 1942. She was the daughter, one of six children born from the union of the late Rockwell Curtis and the late Lillian (Helle) Curtis. Mary attended school in Petersburg and Deerfield before graduating from Deerfield High School with the Class of 1960. She married the love of her life James Lloyd Worrick on June 4, 1960 in Petersburg. From this union came the birth of five children.

Mary loved her family and she considered the time spent with them of utmost importance. Second only to her family, flowers and plants seemed to provide Mary's life with fulfillment and joy. Mary took her passion for gardening and made it a career by taking employment with Frank Smith and Son Nursery. She loved her work and spent more than twelve years growing beautiful things before retiring in 2003. Her favorite pastimes included watching "I love Lucy", and she will forever be remembered for her sweet tea and her baking; especially delicious brownies.

Mary Lou Worrick age 69 of Monroe passed away at 11:29am, Friday, August 5, 2011 at Mercy Memorial Hospital. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by her husband in March of 1977, and two brothers: Marion and Ray Curtis.
