BASTROP MAN ENDS HIS LIFE
Fred Chandler's Death Attributed To Poison; Leaves Suicide Note
Freddie Chandler, 37, of Bastrop, according to a suicide note in his own handwriting, took his life when in Camden, Arkansas, Tuesday. Mr. Chandler's body was taken Wednesday morning from Camden to the home of his mother, Mrs. Joe Chandler in Jones, Louisiana, by Hall Funeral Home. The note that was found near his body was addressed to his wife and mother and read:

"I have gone as long as I can. Don't worry about me for it is better for me and everyone else for I can never get well. When this note is found, telephone 111 Bastrop, and tell my wife. Goodbye and love to all. Bury me beside my dad." It was signed by Freddie Chandler.

The coroner in Camden, who investigated the case, stated that the death was caused by taking a dose of poison. Arrangements for the funeral were incomplete Wednesday noon.
