Statesboro - Mrs. Mayola Waters Owens, 76, died Sunday at Bulloch Memorial Hospital here after a long illness. The Screven County native was a resident of Bulloch County several years and a member of Second St. John Baptist Church in Statesboro.
Surviving are five daughters, Misses Bertha and Irene Owens, both of Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Minnie Bell Campbell of Clearwater, Fla., Mrs. Doris Sapp of Portal and Mrs. Linda Washington of Statesboro; a son, Lonzie Owens of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Katherine Owens of Statesboro; a brother, Sam Waters of Dublin; and 30 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday at Payton's Mortuary in Statesboro, burial in Eastside Cemetery in Statesboro.
