William C. Whitsel, 78, 419 Wood street, West Lafayette, widely known as a retired druggist, died of heart trouble Sunday at 1:50 a.m. in St. Elizabeth hospital.
He was born in Lafayette and was married to Jennie Terry in 1886. He was a member of the West Lafayette Methodist church and in its earlier days directed music in the Sunday school for about twenty-five years.
Surviving are the wife; a daughter, Mrs. H.L. Blankenship, St. Louis; and a brother Luther Whitsel, Lafayette. The body was taken to the Templeton funeral home, where friends may call after noon Monday. Service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the funeral home, Rev. Otto Steel officiating: burial in the Grandview cemetery.
