Della Louise Jury Feb. 7, 1925 - Aug. 4, 2011 Della Louise Jury, 86, of Filer, Idaho, joined her Lord, Jesus Christ, Thursday morning, August 4, at home with her husband by her side. Della was born in Castleford, Idaho, on February 7, 1925, the 6th child of Steve and Hazel Brabb. Most of her adult life was spent in Filer. Della was a loving wife and mother, who continually embraced new people into her growing extended family. She was a great role model and example of how to live life. Group gatherings, filled with great food, fun, and laughter, often spilled out onto her spacious yard. She loved to work in her vegetable and flower gardens and shared the abundance with many. She had beautiful flowers for every season. A weed was no match for her shovel. She was devoted to the Lord and raised her family in the church. Della was actively involved in the Filer Baptist Church, serving as teacher, deaconess, treasurer, clerk, singing in the church choir and being active in ABW Ministries. Musically gifted, she and her sister, Margaret, sang for many years at hundreds of weddings and funerals, and at church. Della's warm and giving spirit was evidenced by sending Christmas, birthday and anniversary cards to hundreds of family and friends as well as monthly photocopied letters, which always started with one of her poems. One of our favorites followed her marriage to Bill Jury, Sr., in April 2001. Just Ask God Two people meet in a casual way, Their families are most precious to each, day by day! They visit at length, the topic? Their children. Soon talk gets more serious, a future? But when! Time gets more precious with the years rolling by. So plans were made quickly for this knot to tie! Now they are married - this happy pair. And God brought them together in answer to prayer! By Della Jury Della enjoyed card and board games. Family will remember her participating in loud and enthusiastic games of Pit at the family cabin. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling, quilting, sewing and clogging. In addition to working on the family farm, Della worked in the office for FMC Seed Corporation (later Harris Moran Seed) in Filer, eventually retiring from the company. Her kids marveled at her boundless energy, often saying she worked "rings" around them. Della was preceded in death by three husbands (Paul Fields, Price Holloway and John Klebe); her parents; three brothers (Kenneth, David and unnamed baby boy); two sisters (Mary and Ruthie); and one son (Bill Jr.). Della is survived by her husband, Bill Jury, Sr.; eight children, Jim (Barbara) Fields, Steve (Diane) Fields, Pat (Ed) Lucich, Jeanne (Rod) Giltner, Chery (D.J.) Ganoe, Katrina (Chuck) Kirtz, John Jury, Shelly (Scott) Howard and Robin (Bill Jr.) Jury; and people she considered as her children, Dave (Sue) McClusky, Paul (Peg) Fields, Shelley (Jeff) McDowell, and Gail (David) DeShazo. She is also survived by two sisters Margaret Melton and Virginia (Joe) Williams; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends brought her great joy. Family was a priority for Della. We will miss her sense of humor, laughter and positive attitude. A private viewing was held August 6th. At her request, Della's ashes will be scattered in the mountains in areas she dearly loved. A memorial will be held Saturday, August 20, at 2:00 pm, at the First Baptist Church in Filer. Memorial contributions in Della's name may be made to Cathedral Pines Baptist Camp, HC 64, Box 8296, Ketchum, ID 83340.
