Deane Jones McCoy, 88 of Greer went home to be with the Lord on August 1, 2011.
Born in Greer, daughter of the late Roland Broadus and Myrtle Johnson Jones, she was the widow of Roy F. McCoy and a faithful member of Riverside Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Charles E. McCoy (Pam) of Matthews, NC, Nancy M. Few (Robert) and M. Ray McCoy of Taylors; a daughter-in-law, Carol McCoy of Greer; seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Bob B. Jones (Dot), Jo J. Powell and Betty J. Roberts (Jim); and a sister-in-law, Fay Jones.
She was predeceased by her eldest son, James F. McCoy and siblings, Elizabeth J. Riggs, Earl Jones, Margaret J. Wilson, Nell J. Bagwell and Mac R. Jones.
Funeral services will be held at Riverside Baptist Church Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 3:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. Marcus Buckley and Rev. Phillip Whitt, with visitation prior to the service from 2:00-3:15 p.m. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Nancy Few.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to Riverside Baptist Church Release Time Fund, 1249 S. Suber Road, Greer, SC 29651.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care and friendships shared by staff and residents at Greenville Glen Assisted Living.
