Born in Sidney, Illinois, July 10, 1886, son of James W. and Nancy I. Joh Epperson, he was interested in turkeys, rabbits and bees. On May 3, 1911, he married the former Lillie Ross in Sidney and they had lived at the same address in Danville for 30 years.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Gay Rice of Danville, a son James L. Epperson of Covington Route 2; two brothers, Edward of St. Joseph and Sy of Sidney, and a sister, Mrs. Anna Dennis of Fort Morgan, Colorado. There are eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A son, Vernon, died in January. Also preceding him in death was a brother.
Funeral services were today Wednesday, February 17, at the Edmund E. Dickson Funeral Home in Danville, Illinois. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park."
