---MRS. MARY EBERT DIES SUDDENLY AT HOME OF HER SON---
Mrs. Mary Ebert. nearly 86 years old. died at 9 o'clock this morning at the home of her son, Wm. Ebert, on the Bloomfield Road. She was stricken suddenly; and died before a doctor could arrive. Although she had not been very strong, Mrs. Ebert had been up and about the house every day and had not been attended by a physician recently. Funeral services will be held at the residence at 1:30 o'clock Friday afternoon and at 2 o'clock at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. F. H. Melzer, the pastor, in charge. She had been a member of that church since childhood. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.

Mrs. Ebert was born June 23. 1846, in Friedheim [Missouri], and five years after her birth she came to Cape Girardeau with her parents, who fell victims to the cholera plague, two years after they came here. She then went back to Friedheim until she was 18 years old, when she married Henry Buchold (probably spelled Buckholz based on the marriage certificate to August Ebert from Nov 1869) of Scott County. He died nine months after their marriage. She was then married to Henry [August] Ebert and they resided in Scott County two years, then came to Cape Girardeau, living on a farm west of the city, where a son now resides. They later lived in Cape Girardeau on a corner of the intersection of Good Hope and Hanover streets. Mr. Ebert died Oct. 15, 1916. Surviving Mrs. Ebert is a son, William Ebert, and a daughter, Mrs. Ed Schneider, of near Dutchtown, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A stepdaughter, Mrs. Fritz (Fred?) Siemers, resides at Jackson.
