Funeral services for Mrs. Julian F. Walters, 77, a lifelong resident of Montgomery County who died Sunday at Suburban Hospital after a brief illiness, were held Tuesday at the W. R. Pumphrey funeral home in Rockville. Burial was in Forest Oak Cemetery, Gaithersburg. Mrs Walters was a descendant of the Ricketts family who were large plantation owners in this area in Colonial days. She was the sister of the late William Frank Ricketts, a former Montgomery County Commissioner. Her husband was principal of Brookeville Academy which closed in 1912 and Mrs. Walters taught for many years in county schools. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Chalres P. Clark, of Rockville, one brother, Forrest E. Ricketts of Catonsville, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A son, Lt. Col Julian Fairfax Walters, who served as a Marine Corps pilot overseas, was killed on a routine flight in this country about two years ago.
