Another of Chisago County' well known and respected old settlers passed away last week when death came to Adam
Youngberg, a resident of Center City since 1913 and of Chisago County since 1874 early Friday Morning at his home in Center City.
His death comes enexpectedly from heart failure. Although he had been ailing for the past 2 years, he was apparently in his usual health before his death, having been up and about throughout the day. When he retired early Thursday evening he complained if no unusal condition, and early Friday morning, shortly after 2 he was stricken with a heart attack. He was 77 years old.
Funeral services for Adam Youngberg were conducted from the home at 1:30 last Sunday and from the Chisago Lake Lutheran Church at 2:00, Rev Oscar Sandahl officiated. Interment was a Chisago Lake Cemetary.
Pallbearers were William Grandquist, Albert Olson, Frank Farnell, Warren Mattson, Frank Anderson and Nels Carlson.
Adam Youngberg was born at Tingsos socken, Smaland, Sweden, December 24, 1849 and died on April 9, 1926. He married Miss Eva Warndahl June 23, 1879 and shortly after they came to America, September 15, 1871. In 1874 he settled with his family on a farm near Shafer, living there until 1913, when the family moved to Center City where they have since made their home.
Nearest relatives left to mourn his departure are his widow, Mrs A Youngberg of Center City, and seven children, Ed Youngberg of Lindstrom, John Youngberg of Stillwater, Frank Youngberg of Stacy, Joseph Youngberg of Aitkin, Mrs OW Hammerquist of St Paul and Esther and Henry of Center City, besides 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The Press joins with a large circle of friends in etending sympathy to the bereived.
