Genevieve Fye Farmer was a daughter of Walter J. and Ada Knott Fye of Cincinnati, Ohio. She married William Silas Farmer (Sr) in Cincinnati on December 7, 1910. Genevieve and William became the parents of two children, William Silas Farmer, Jr and Martha Louise Farmer.

After much moving about due to William's work, they settled in Medfield, MA, where they lived out the remainder of their lives. To her grandchildren, Genevieve was known as "Grammy," and, according to her granddaughter Ann, she was much beloved and had a great sense of humor. She loved animals, sang songs, and read poetry to her grandchildren.

Genevieve Fye Farmer was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Hart B. Fye, and her husband. Her sister, Ada Louise Fye Colt, died in September, 1967 in Colorado.

Genevieve was survived by her children, William Silas Farmer, Jr., Dr Martha Louise Farmer, and several grandchildren.

In our Black Family Tree, Genevieve is my husband's maternal first cousin, 3x removed.
