John Gregg Sr. was born in Pennsylvania and his wife Rachel Currie was born in Ireland. They came to Mt. Pleasant, Henry County, Iowa in the 1850's along with their daughter, Rachel Gregg Stewart and her husband, Robert Stewart as well as both families' children that were still at home. They left Versailles, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania for Iowa. Rachel & her husband, John's dates of birth aren't supported by the census records.
