Jacob Stahr Passes Away.
Jacob Stahr, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of Fulton county, died at his home near this city, Sunday night. Typhoid fever was the direct cause of death, though he had been feeble for some time.
Mr. Stahr was born in Germany, 84 years ago, but came to this country when quite young and has resided in this vicinity about 35 or 40 years.
Five children survive him -- three sons, Valentine, of Polson, Mont; Will, of near Mayfield, Ky; and Steve, of this city. The daughters are Mrs. Werner and Mrs. H. Mangold, of near Hickman.
Funeral services were conducted at the catholic church -- of which he was a faithful member -- Tuesday morning at ten o'clock. Burial took place at city cemetery.
Mr. Stahr had a reputation of being a splendid gentleman and a good citizen.
Peace to his ashes.
