Delores Marcheta Barton, 88, passed through the gates of heaven on Friday, July 22, 2011. She now resides where she lived her life to be.

Delores and her twin sister Yvonne were born in Nekoma, Kansas on April 14, 1923. She grew up in Dodge City, Kansas, where she graduated from high school in 1941. She married her high school sweetheart, Glenn Barton, on October 17, 1942. Glenn was a dashing Navy seaman who promised to show her the world. Instead, Delores was a faithful Navy wife who experienced love by a long distance relationship.

In 1948 they rejoined civilian life and returned to Dodge City, Kansas. There she made a home for her family which included her children Sue, Tom, Janice and Tim. In 1957 they sold the family business and moved to Boise, Idaho where she resided until her death. The move to Boise was fruitful as she added two sons, Ted and Brent.

Delores loved to attend Bible studies at her church until her health prevented her attendance.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Glenn; children, Sue, Tim (Heather), Ted (Tish) and Brent (Vonnita); eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Yvonne Moore and Jean Holsten, of Dodge City, Kansas; also many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Janice and Tom met her in heaven, where she now makes her home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Crossroads Alliance Church, 1400 N. Cole Rd. at Fairview, with a viewing for family and friends beginning at 12 noon. A private family burial will take place on Monday, August 1, 2011 at Joplin Cemetery, Boise.

Services are under the direction of the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
