Alesa Boddie Roe died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, July 24, 2011 in Mobile, AL after a lengthy illness. She was born in Ruston, LA on August 11, 1924. Mrs. Roe was a registered nurse for over 30 years, working in public health nursing and serving as the company nurse for United Gas Pipeline Co. in Houston. She excelled in her field and received numerous awards for her outstanding nursing service. Mrs. Roe was a devout Christian and was always very active in her church. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Coushatta for many years until she moved to Mobile, AL to be with her children and grandchildren. While living in Mobile, she was an active member of Springhill Baptist Church. Mrs. Roe was married to Fred O. Roe, Sr. for over 57 years until his death in 2003. She is survived by two sons, Fred O. Roe, Jr. (wife Laura) and Barry Wayne Roe (wife Cindi), four grandsons, Stephen, Michael, David, Wayne, one granddaughter, Adrian, one great-grandson, Bennett, one great-granddaughter Emory and numerous relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at Kilpatrick Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Coushatta on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Brother Bill Hinds officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Coushatta, LA or Springhill Baptist Church at 2 South McGregor Mobile, AL The family wishes to thank Mrs. Roe's Sunday School class for its kind and longstanding support. These women became her dear friends and were blessings in her life.
