Birth Notes: Ladonna Estes's work, Descendants of Francis Vincent, and Anthony Madison's work, Those Who Came Before, state that Rubin was born in 1790. The Death Certificate for his daughter, Jane Vincent, states that Rubin was born in South Carolina.

Death Date: 7 Dec 1874 (Monday)

Death Location: Edmonson County, Kentucky, USA

Death Notes: An old newspaper article in a Barren County, KY, newspaper (the Glasgow Daily Times) said that "Old Rubin Vincent" died "at the ripe old age of about 90." He was, most likely, only 84 years old when he died. There is a notification or registration of his death in the Edmonson County, KY, death registry from 1874 that appears to state that he died on December 7, although a number of people have recorded his death as December 8.


Burial Notes: Rubin is allegedly buried in a family cemetery on his old homestead which is now part of Mammoth Cave National Park. The area is sometimes referred to as the "Old Rube Webb Farm."


Ruben Vincent eight of the children were born in Jackson co, Tn, the other six were born in Edmonson Co, Ky.


Reuben and John came to Edmonson Co , Ky with their families about 1834 and settled on Bear Creek . They worked in the saw mill and grist mill business. Reuben did receive a notice in 1831 to appear in court and explain why they did not pay their taxes the year before . Reuben and Easter were on the roll of the Old Holly Springs Baptist Church on Indian Creek in 1836.


This came from family paper found in Edmonson , Co library -author unknown . Brownsville Corespondent to the Glasgow Times, 24 Dec 1874: Ruben Vincent Sr of this county , died on the 8th at the ripe old age of about 90 years.
