Funeral services for John G. Campbell, 80, were held Friday July 28, 1972 at Marengo, Ill. Internment was in Willard Grove Cemetery, Channahon, Ill. Mr. Campbell died July 26, 1972 in Marengo, Ill.
John was born the youngest son of Walter J. and Hannah I. "Belle" (Gifford) Campbell on Oct. 30, 1891 in Minooka, Grundy Co., Ill.
He married May Porter and to them were born: John G. "Giff" Jr. in 1922; Doris in 1924: and Carol in 1931.
After May died John married Emily Dewhirst and to them was born a son, David in 1956.
John and his family lived many years of his adult life in Marengo, Ill. and the surrounding area.
John is survived by his wife, Emily and son David of Marengo, Ill.; son John G. "Giff" Jr.; two daughters, Mrs. Doris Swanson of Chicago, and Mrs. Carol Culin of Muncie, Ind.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, May; his parents; sisters Clara "Maud" Jones, Dora Hughes, Hattie Stratten, and Gertrude Burdette, and a brother, Robert W. Campbell.
