Obree Lee Miller
Obree Lee Miller, 55, of 10 Meadow Lane, died Sunday evening upon arrival at a local hospital.
Mr. Miller was born on March 26, 1946 in Floyd County, the son of the late Clarence Erwin Miller and Beadie Texanna Wright Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Miller.
Mr. Miller worked for Carriage Industries for a number of years and was a member of the Victory Baptist Church. He was a graduate of West Rome High School and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U. S. Army from 1963 until 1966.
Survivors include his wife, the former Glenda Vines to whom he was married April 7,1966;one son, Jason Miller, Rome; five grandchildren, one brother, Charles Miller, Oklahoma City, Okla.; two sisters, Lola Conley, North Carolina, and Edna Pokorney, Chicago, Il.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Victory Baptist Church with the Rev. Lavonne Ward officiating. Interment will be in the Floyd Memory Gardens with the Honor Guard of the Shanklin-Attaway Post No. 5 of the American Legion in charge of military rites. Pallbearers will be Jason Oakes, Andy Garrett, Don Autry, Terry Marshall, Mark Evans and Lloyd Pelt. The family will receive friends at Daniel's Funeral Home today from 7 p.m untiol 9 p.m.
