Mrs. Alice L. Schlegel, 87, Wamego, died late Monday, October 31, at the Wamego hospital where she was a patient a short time.
Mrs. Schegel had taught school, was a former Star Route mail carrier, worked in a Westmoreland law office and was a bookkeeper for Gas Service Co., at Wamego.
She was born April 12, 1896 near Onaga, the daughter of Frank and Jennie Dinwiddie Simon. She moved from Westmoreland to Wamego in 1948.
She was married to Jesse J. Schlegel December 23, 1923 at Westmoreland. He survives. A son, Vern Eldon Schlegel, died in 1927.
Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Belle Miller, Manhattan, and Mrs. Hallie Graf, Wamego.
Services are at 2:00 p.m. today (Thursday) at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego with burial in the Congregational Cemetery at Wheaton.
