Mrs. Jennie Shaw, 34, wife of John H. Shaw, died this morning at 11 o'clock at the home of her father-in-law, James Shaw, two miles east of Dennison, where she had been making her home for the past year. Although Mrs. Shaw had been ill since one year ago last June when she suffered a stroke of paralysis, the immediate cause of death was acute indigestion of which she was ill only a few hours. Mrs. John H. Shaw was born near Gnadenhutten, November 24, 1882. When a baby she was adopted and raised by Mr. and Mrs. Peter Wheeland, of Gnadenhutten. January 11, 1906 she was united in marriage to John Shaw. No children were born to this union. Besides her husband she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Dolly Howell, Dover, and Mrs. Charles Reese [sic Rees], Thornwood Park. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 from the Shaw residence with Rev. T.J. Roby, pastor of the United Brethren Church officiating. The remains will be taken to Gnadenhutten where internment will be made. Mrs. Shaw was a member of the U.B. Church. (no date or name of newspaper on clipping kept with family)
