"Ricardo de Acosta Lawyer 40 Years Was Former Aide to Corporation Counsel

Ricardo Miguel de Acosta, a lawyer specializing in real estate and tax cases, with an office at 51 Chambers Street, died yesterday after a brief illness, at his residence, 353 East Fifty-third Street. He was 65 years old on Feb. 19.

A son of the late Ricardo de Acosta, originally a resident of Spain, who migrated to Cuba and then to New York, Mr. de Acosta was graduated from Harvard College in 1904. He studied law and practiced here for nearly forty years. In the administration of May John Purroy Mitchel he was an Assistant Corporation Counsel.

Mr. de Acosta was a member of the Harvard Club and formerly belonged also to the Racquet and Tennis, Links, Manhattan, Piping Rock, Shinnecock Hills golf and Rockaway Hunting Clubs.

He leaves a widow, the former Maebella Wright; a daughter, Mrs. George Trowbridge Elliman of Warrenton, VA., child of his first marriage, to the present Mrs. Marie de Zaldo de Acosta of this city, and four sisters, Mrs. Henry S. Breckinridge [Aida de Acosta Root], Mrs. Theodore Chanler [Maria de Acosta Sargent], and Mercedes de Acosta of New York, and Mrs. Frederick Shaw of London [Angela de Acosta Sewall). The late Mrs. Philip M. Lydig [Rita de Acosta Stokes], noted beauty, was his sister."
