Hays -- Philomene Frances Ross, 83, Hays, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1992, at Hays Medical Center. Mrs. Ross was bom Philomene Frances Fisher on Nov. 13, 1909, at Hays.

She was co-owner and operator of the Brunswick Hotel in Hays for 20 years. She was a retired registered nurse and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Hays.

Survivors include her husband, Walter C. Sr. of the home; a son, Walter C. Jr. of Hays; five daughters, Shirley Schartz and Betty Pfeifer, both of Hays, Jeannine Ross of the home, Marilyn Wasinger of Wichita and Patricia Needy of Anchorage, Alaska; two brothers, John Fisher of Salina and George Fisher of Ellis; a sister, Sister Teresita Fisher of Concordia; 22 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Hays, the Rev. Paulinus Karlin officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Hays. A parish vigil will be at 8 p.m. today at Brock's North Hill Chapel, Hays. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today and after 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, 2509 Vine St., Hays, 67401.
