Garland L.Thomas 81 of Warsaw Missouri, Benton Co. died Thursday Jan 18,2001 at his farm home near Warsaw Missouri, Benton Co. He was born March 25,1919 in Fristoe Missouri, Benton Co.
a son of John and Ollie (Halligen) Thomas. On March 1,1950 at the Methodist Church parsonage in Warsaw Missouri, Benton Co. He was married to Margaret L. Jones who survives of the home.Mr. Thomas grew up in Southern Benton Co.,Missouri where he was a lifelong resident.He was an Army Veteran WWII serving overseas in Okinawa.He was a member of the occupation forces in Japan immediately after the war.He was discharged on Oct. 19,1946 and returned home.He was a farmer who took care of catle and livestock and harvested crops.Also surviving are three sons Garland Dean Thomas of Tulsa Okla,Robert Lee Thomas of Belton Missouri and Larry Wayne Thomas of Sand Springs Okla.two daughters Joyce Jean Ihrig and Ruth Branstetter of Blackburn Missouri, Saline Co.a brother Carl Thomas of Warsaw Missouri ,Benton Co.a sister Bernice Byrum of Warsaw Missouri, Benton Co. 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Funeral services was held Jan 21,2001 at 2p.m. at Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw Missouri, Benton Co. with Rev Don Nicholson officiating.Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Warsaw Missouri, Benton Co.
