Renaldo Earl Harper, 94, Provo, Utah, died Friday, January 4, 1991, in Provo of causes incident to age. He was born on September 13, 1896, in Albion, Idaho, the son of Thomas Ephraim and Celia Ann Phippen Harper.


He married Mary Eckersell Darley in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 15, 1919. She died on March 27, 1969.


He married Gladys Marie Cowles Torgeson in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on September 27, 1969.


He was employed by the Ogden Union Railway and Depot Company in Ogden for 20 years. He moved to California and worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad until his retirement. He returned to Utah and worked as a Salesman for the Buchner Block Company.


Having lived in Utah and California, he served in many positions in LDS Wards and Stakes. He became a Patriarch in Covina, California, Staked and served in this capacity for several years.


Survivors include his wife, Santa Anna, California; and sons, Flamm Dee Harper, Las Vegas, Nevada; E Craig Harper, Provo, Utah; Glenn R Harper, Huntsville, Utah; Thomas D Harper, Rancho Cucamonga, California; Reid L Harper, Belford, New Jersey; Leslie K Harper, Diamond Bar, California; Robert E Harper, Lakeside, California; L Ray Harper, Upland, California, and daughters: Mrs. Howard (Carol) Larson, Brigham City, Utah; Mrs. David (Carma) Waterman, Murray, Utah; and step-children: Gill Toorgeson, Glendale, California and Mrs. John (Colleen) Blair, Costa Mesa, California; 54 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.


Burial was held in the Call's Fort Cemetery, Honeyville, Utah.
