Helen Eleanor Bruschitzki was born on November 20, 1915, in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, to parents John Bruschitzki (1889-1964), and Anna Christine Nastale (1892-1974), both born in Michigan.

Helen was the third child in a family of five children. Her brother and sisters were: Leonard Julius Bruschitzki/Bridges (1913-2002), Alice Cecelia Bruschitzki-Mitchell (1914-2006), Leona Ann Bruschitzki-Bradley-Jarvis (1917-1988), and Carolyn Grace Bruschitzki-Kirkwood (1919-2002).

On December 5, 1936, in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, Helen married Raymond Austin McGlynn (1908-2003). Raymond was the son of Joseph P. McGlynn, born in Canada (1878-1936), and Lucy Hauck, born in Wisconsin (1880-1931).

Helen and Raymond lived and started their family in Wayne County, Michigan. They had two children. They eventually relocated and settled in National City, California, where they remained until they died.
