When she was young, her parents split up.
In 1926, on Christmas day in Great Falls, Cascade, Montana, Mabel remarried to George Washington Yeager. Emma took her step-father's last name of Yeager.
In 1928, on April 4 in Emmetsburg, Palo Alto, Iowa, her father remarried to Mabel Florence nee Crooker, widower of Mr. Leach.

In 1938, on September 23 in Chouteau, Montana age age 18, Emma Yeager married John Joseph Ashworth.

In 1941, April Charles Buckingham had married Marion Teresa Riley, and by December their first child was born, a daughter.
A second child was born, a son.
Meanwhile, Charles Buckingham had divorced from his 1941 mariage to Marion Teresa Riley Buckingham.

In 1944, on September 3, Emma Ashworth entered her second marriage with Leif Erick Field. His son was named Robert.

For her third marriage, Emma Field joined with Charles Buckingham, who died in 1978. She became stepmother to his two children. The spousal joint headstone lists him as Charles A and her as Emma Lou.
In 1978 also, Ivan Rex Winebrenner's wife Lucille Jane Goss Winebrenner died.

In 1980 in Augusta, Montana, Emma Buckingham's fourth marriage was to widower Ivan Rex Winebrenner. Ivan lived another six years before passing away in 1986.

Emma Lou was born June 2, 1920 in Conrad. She was a member of Eastern Star and worked for the USDA taking farm surveys for many years. Emma loved being with her family, playing cards and reading.
Survivors include her son, Bob (Sharon) Field of Great Falls; a daughter, Bonnie (Roger) Christiaens of Valier; stepson, Ross Buckingham of Three Forks; stepdaughter, Charlene (Bill) Adams of Wendon, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
