Mrs. Mead was born at Hubbard September 20, 1892, and lived in that community until moving to Salem six years ago. She was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include her widower, Herbert Mead of Coquille; two sons, Leonard Watkins of Tigard and Richard Watkins of Turner; four brothers, Earl and Sheldon France of Portland, Elbert France of Alsea, and Kenneth France of Camp Pendleton, Cal., two sisters Mrs. Thelma Dimick, Puente, Cal., and Mrs. Winnifred Brown of Hubbard; and eight grandchildren.
