Opal Mazur, 78, of Sandusky passed away Wednesday morning, May 12, 2010 in the comfort of Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born January 1, 1932 in Portsmouth, OH to the late Julia (Chandler) and Walter Culp and moved to Sandusky in 1950. There she met and married John Mazur in 1953 and raised a family. She loved being with her family and enjoyed her pets, sewing and quilting, gardening and her church, Community of Christ.
Opal is survived by her two sons, James (Sherry) Mazur of Vickery and Robert Mazur of Rossford; two daughters, Beverly (Gordon) Solze of Castalia, and Barbara Mazur of Sandusky; and grandsons, Jason Mazur, Nickolas Mazur and Don Solze as well as great-grandsons, Jordon and Logan Mazur. She is also survived by her brother, Clyde Culp; aunt Nellie Adkins; nieces, nephews and long time friend, Rosemary Stamm.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Mazur in 2000; brother Joseph Culp and sister Shirley Deno.
Friends may call on Friday, May 14, 2010 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00am Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
