FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN EVANSVILLE
Conrad Heller, 67, tailor, and a resident of this city for many years, died at his home in Evansville, 719 South Second street, Thursday, April 12, at 1:30 a.m., after an illness of several months. The remains were brought here for burial, and funeral services were held at the Main Street M.E. church, Monday, at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Craig officiating, assisted by Rev. V.C. Pfeiffer, followed by burial in Fairmount cemetery.
Mr. Heller was born in Schemendorph, Bavaria, Germany, in 1860 and came to this country aat the age of 12 with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Veit Heller, settling in this city where he spent the early years of his life, associated with his father in the tailoring business. He was a man of sterling character, a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal church and also a member of the Tribe of Ben Hur.
Surviving are the widow, Julia; three daughters, Mrs. H.J. Toelle and Mrs. A.P. Withers, of Tampa, Fla., and Miss May Heller of this city, and two sons, Walter J., Tampa Fla. and Dewey, of Evansville, and one brother, Ernest J. of this city.
