Mrs. Mae Lewis Died Saturday
Mrs. Mae Dasher Lewis,88,died Saturday at Evans Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
She was a native of Liberty County, but also resided in Tattnall and Evans counties.
She was a member of the New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Willie "Lamorah" Odom of Claxton and Mrs. Winona Smith of Savannah; three sons, Talmadge Lewis of Claxton, Attis Lewis of Glennville, and Euris Lewis of Winter Haven, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Alma Bacon of Glennville, Mrs. Retta Green of Screven and Mrs. Danella Stubbs of Claxton; and 12 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. at Beard's Creek Primitive Baptist Church with the Elder Estus Warren and Elder J.W. Durrence officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Billy L. Odom, Haven C. Odom, Sequel Todd, Allen Lewis, Richard Dasher, and Wendell Smith.
Nesmith Funeral Home of Claxton was in charge.
