Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 16, 1996, at St. Ann's Catholic Church here for Mrs. Ala A. Fontenot. 81. of Mamou. who died on March 14, in her residence following a long illness. Burial followed in the New St. Ann's Cemetery here under the direction of Ardoin's Funeral Home of Mamou. She was a housewife. Survivors include: her husband. Chester Fontenot of Mamou; one son, Donald W. Fontenot of San Antonio' Texas; one daughter, Pat Norse of Lafayette: one brother, Clifford Ardoin of Mamou; two sisters. Bessie Ledoux and Vema Arsenault both of Mamou; and one grandson. Michael Norse.
